Lyn paints what she describes as the untamed beauty of our coast and inland.

Since 1981 Lyn has turned her multi talents to fine art. By choice she now works almost exclusively in the pastel medium but will work in oil or with silver leaf if the subject needs it. Each work has a focus based on her observation and the reality is subtly shifted to emphasise the painting’s purpose. This is to make her feeling of the subject more obvious.

• Lyn has over 100 awards & commendations but now concentrates on gallery display.
• Featured in 5 art reference books –inc. World’s Best Pastel Artists 2010 & About Face
• Featured in many art magazines including International Pastel Artist.
• Four paintings in print (sold out)
• A limited edition series of Sydney drawings.
• 5 of her works acquired for government collections in Australia and Japan.
• Lyn Mellady A.G.R.A.F is a past President of The Australian Guild of Realist Artists
• Establishing the National award—Australian Art Excellence Medallion in 2000
• Made a Fellow of AGRA in 2007 in recognition of the quality of her paintings.
• Life Member of AGRA in 2009 for service to the Guild.
• She is an active member of Fusion Six whose 1st Exhibition, ’About Face’ toured Regional Galleries from 2007-2010 . ‘Detour’ will open in November 2011.
• Demonstrated her art to many hundreds of artists at Art Societies across Australia.
• She is also a respected Art Show judge and speaker.

She feels privileged to be part of the creative arts in Australia today and will bring her inside knowledge of the artist community to her gallery. She is determined to respect both the artist and their work as well as those who wish to share the artist’s vision, be it by viewing or purchase.
It is her aim to create both social and personal artistic enjoyment, knowledge and friendship and perhaps satisfy the personal need for both artist and collector of enjoyable acquisition.
