As the Brialyn Boathouse Gallery establishes itself there has been much to plan. Yes the gallery needed an important revamp inside and potential exhibitors initially had to dodge electricians, carpenters and painters. With the gallery ready, as the main artists couriered or delivered their work which was grouped for display and went up on the walls. The gallery could then be opened for a preview of what was coming even though the sourcing and delivery for the items that complement the artwork like pottery, jewellery, sculpture, books and glassware was still in progress.
The artists who lived within travelling distance gathered at the gallery on Sunday 21st for several reasons
a) To meet each other
b) See what had been done with their artwork
c) Be informed of the gallery program for the next year. Some of this plan would enable them to participate and plan their work schedules/ paintings trips or direction.
d) And be aware of the opening date - Sunday, 18th September 2011 2-4pm.
We will be sending out short newsletter to those who request it to make sure that you don't miss something that interested you. We will share photos of events, new work, booking info for our artist floor talks, and heaps more.
Yes our first Feature artist is booked, is painting and has sent his first samples. We will tell you more about that very soon.
